Citizen of the Year
Ray Gokey named 2016 Citizen of the Year
The recipient of the Meade Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, for 2016, has been a resident of Meade for 19 years. This individual has turned his love of the outdoors into a tool for instilling and introducing the importance of the outdoors to area youth.
For over 9 years, this individual has assisted with the annual OK Kids day held at the Meade State Park. He has been a member of the local Pheasants Forever chapter for over 10 years. Within that organization, he has held the position of Secretary since 2008. Has helped to maintain the local trap shoot area and assisted in cooking lunch during hunter safety classes held in Meade. He has opened his home and property to local youth for youth hunts.
He connects his love of the outdoors and his enjoyment of hunting to many kids who would not otherwise have the opportunity. He is always available to help local youth and his friends and neighbors.
